Introduction to ‘Mumbai Archery Club’

Mumbai Archery Club is providing an opportunity of a lifetime to school students in Mumbai to adopt Archery as a sport from a young age. It is our great pleasure to provide this service to the city in order to sow the seeds for reaping out some fine archers for the country. Getting trained in archery not only has brighter prospects in the sports arena but is also beneficial for children in a wide range of aspects. It’s a healthy recreational activity for the lethargic city life of our children.

We at Mumbai Archery Club seek to deliver excellent coaching by our trained coach under the experience and guidance of our Mentor and President, Mrs. Poonam Mahatme.

About the Mentor

Mrs. Poonam Mahatme has a Masters Degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed.(Archery)) and Masters in Philosophy(M.Phil. (Archery)) in the field of Archery. She is currently designated as the Secretary of the Mumbai Archery Association and the Raigad Archery Association . She has been a great pride for our country in being India’s representative in the ‘Asian Archery Organizing and Judging Seminar ‘, held in Bangkok, organized by the International Archery Federation (FITA) in the year 2010. Mrs. Poonam Mahatme was also the Technical Official for Archery at the Common Wealth Games 2010 and for many national championships as well.  She has been the coach for the Maharashtra team for 4 years. There are several Gold and Silver Medals to her credits in state and national level championships. We are fortunate to have her expertise to guide us in providing this remarkable prospect for our budding archers.
